Sony revealed impressive figures about its profits as the PS5 reached the milestone of 75 million units sold.

The Japanese company shared the information last Thursday (13). The numbers show the financial results for the third fiscal quarter of 2024, covering the months from October to December last year.

They sold 9.5 million PS5 units during the year-end period, setting a record for the company for a fiscal quarter, only behind the PS4’s peak in 2017.

It is also worth noting that the PS5 is now only 1.5 million units behind the PS4, which sold 76.5 million units over its lifetime.

Regarding future projections, Sony shipped 15.7 million PS5 units to retailers at the start of 2025. They estimate to sell around 18 million units by the end of March.

The data also reveals that the company’s operating income increased by about $766 million, while its gaming and network services division grew to about $761 million.
